Yi-Chia Wu is currently affiliated with the Department of Cancer Immunology and Virology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the Division of Plastic Surgery/Division of Breast Oncology and Surgery at the Department of Surgery at Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine, College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Previously, he served as the Chief of the Burn Center, Division of Plastic Surgery/Department of Surgery from 2019 to 2023. He was the Chief of the Division of Cellular and Immune Therapy at the Department of Medical Research in Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital from 2018 to 2021. He was also the Department Chief of Plastic Surgery at Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital, Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital from 2014 to 2018.
Yi-Chia Wu obtained his MD from National Taiwan University and his MS from the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Taiwan University. He also holds a PhD in Translational Medicine from Kaohsiung Medical University and Academia Sinica.
He has received several honors and awards, including poster awards, industry-university cooperation awards, and presentation awards from organizations like Academia Sinica, Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan Surgical Association, and the American Society of Plastic Surgery.
His research interests and initiatives focus on areas like cancer immunotherapy, breast cancer, diabetic wound healing, bioabsorbable materials for wound and bone repair, and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
